all gemstones originate from the hot magma in the earth’s core. thousands of years of cooling and the earth’s natural settling/movement have formed stones and gems. these stones and gems have been used for thousands of years for healing and spiritual purposes. shamans and medicine men have used and still use stones/rocks/gems in rituals and ceremonies to elevate spiritual energy. they have been used from everything to protection to attracting prosperity. here are a few of my favorites.

amethyst has always always held a special attraction for me. associated with the crown chakra, amethyst increases concentration, confidence, and clarity to the conscious and unconscious mind. when worn on one’s person, amethyst can alleviate headaches and migraines. it also attracts justice and wards off danger.

tiger’s eye is a beautiful stone that can bring prosperity and good luck to its wearer. it also promotes mental clarity, grounding, and order. it’s healing properties are many, from relieving joint pain to bronchial issues like asthma. this beautiful stone’s flecks of gold keep me mesmerized. it works well with the chakra governing the solar plexus.

a favorite amongst ancient Kemetians, lapis lazuli was used in jewelry and art, symbolic of the blue sky and the light of the heavens. this stone promotes wisdom, intuition, and inspiration. it governs the throats chakra. it has been known to balance the thyroid gland, lower blood pressure,strengthen vocal cords, and prevent miscarriages. it is a relatively rare and beautiful stone that i love.
