i can faintly hear the adan, subtle lilting notes over the sound of crashing waves tinted with turquoise hues. i can almost taste the spicy cloves almost as surely as i smell the sweet cinnamon wafting over the breeze. brightly colored kangas pepper the marketplace as covered women bargain and sell the market’s wares. i seem to be dreaming, but i fight to hold on to this scene. because i want to stay…….in zanzibar.
